"Folk Reminiscence": Purple Fusion's first debut album releasing soon

 Purple Fusion a Folk Fusion band from Nagaland, is all set to release their first debut album "Folk Reminiscence". The band delves and experiments in Naga traditional as well as other Folk music.

The band consists of the talented Lamtsala H Sangtam (Lead Vocal), Imsanger Lkr (Guitar), Mhathung Odyuo (Bass) and Temsu Kichu (Drummer).

The Band was formed officially on 28th August 2012 with an aim to promote the rich tradition and culture of Nagaland ,India in the form of fusion music.

PF incorporates indigenous ethnic music with genre of the west like Blues, Jazz, Funk, Reggae and rock to create a blend of music which is different and unique from what we usually get to listen to in this modern electronic age.

PF have performed with some of the biggest names in the international music industry as well as India (country own) like with John W Schlitt - Petra(Grammy award winner) , Rahul Ram – Indian Ocean , Rabbi Shergill etc.

Lamtsala H Sangtam has made a comeback to the music scene after about a gap of ten years. She is Known as one of the most dynamic and powerful live performer. She is a self thought vocalist. She has performed with some of the biggest names in the country like Artist of "Best Indian Act" MTV Europe Music Awards , Rahul Ram of Indian Ocean , Rabbi shergil . Have been featured in MTV Soundtrippin-2 with Sneha Khanwalker. Among the few folk singers from the region who has delved into folk and been successful she has made a mark in the region inspiring and motivating many youngsters to dig deep into their culture and to give the world something new and refreshing rather than just singing popular numbers to make a living.

Imsanger Lkr: Know by the name IMS among the band members, IMS is a computer engineer. He was the guitarist for bands like Audio Essence and Syncopath when he was in mumbai and was also with Diatribe (winner of Hornbill National Rock 2008 ) for a couple of years.

Mhathung has been the long time Bass player of the Band DivineConnection (winner of MTV RockOn 2011). He has performed all over the country as well as abroad. He had been the driving force of DivineConnection composing, arranging and writing songs for the band. Having a desire to shy away from the mainstream rock and metal scene Mhathung has joined PF and is experimenting with Naga Folk music fussed with Jazz, funk,blues, raggae and rock. Mhathung won the title of Best Bassist at Yamaha Music India-Asian Beat 2008 and Hornbill Rock contest etc. He is also known as the the first Indian Bassist to have an online bass tutorial on Youtube.

TEMSU KICHU on Drums: Temsu is one of the leading drummers from Nagaland who has played for bands such as Diatribe(winner of Hornbill National Rock 2008), Grafitti, Oleanders etc. He has won numerous awards in the state as well as outside the state.

Opang Jamir to walk for Designer Asa Kazingmei at Lakme Fashion week

Naga Male Model Opang Jamir Metsubo will be walking the ramp  for Asa Kazingmei who is also Tangkhul Naga, Asa last collection was last seen at 2012 lakme Fashion week.

Opang Jamir is quiet excited to be back in the Modelling world after a gap of 2 years, he has been busy organizing/grooming/mentoring aspiring younger ones in this few years after his successful participation at Mister International 2012 held at Bangkok Thailand.

Jamir who have experience walking the ramp Internationally is ready to set the ramp on fire this August 20-24th at Lakme Fashion week winter fall to be held at Palladium Hotel Mumbai. He is the first North-Easter and Naga Male Model to go Internationally and bring laurels to the state of Nagaland in the year 2012. He is excited to be back to studies and to do modelling at the same time.

For Asa Kazingmei there will be 12 models comprising of 6 male & 6 female, his outfits are uniquely        created, Asa have made famed recently at Saturday Music Video where Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt     flaunted in this creative outfits and shoes. Many Celebrities have worn in their films/events etc like Saif Ali Khan, Salman khan, Kajol etc.

Designer Khrielasier Liezietsu at Tresemme Couture Fashion Week 2014

Khrielasier Liezietsu represented Nagaland to the Tresemmè Couture Fashion Week on 21st and 22nd june 2014 at Guwahati. He showcased a mixed collection of western designs with Indian inspired  art prints to add more glamour to the collection. 

Ten designers from across India took part in the two day long fashion event where this upcoming young Naga teenager left a spellbound experience upon the audience.

He added in his official statement to the TOI that, 'Fashion should not just be a piece of cloth to cover our body, fashion is also an art'.

Reen's taste of Fashion: I would wear anything that goes with the circumstances... Fashion is too complex... It changes so quickly with time... And so it's difficult to maintain a permanence in it. Right now... I would                                                     want to wear anything that is fashionably up to date!
Retros have always been fascinating to me especially the 70s and 80s . I like any outfit that is fancy..occasionally wear the classics. Since i'm still a teenagers... Casuall comforts are always one of the favorite. The one i'm wearing now is a fusion.Tomboyish yet subtle enough to capture te feminine essence.

Miss Sumi Ahuna 2013

Atheli Zhimo was crowned Miss Sumi Ahuna 2013 who also bagged the subtitle Miss Personality followed by Alivi Achumi as the 1st runners-up and Eziza Sumi as the 2nd runners-up who also clinched the ‘Viewer’s Choice’ title. Atheli won a cash prize of Rs. 50000, while the 1st and 2nd runners-up won Rs. 35, 000 and Rs. 25, 000 respectively. Miss Sumi Ahuna 2013 was held under the theme “Beauty for Amity”, where 15 contestants from Kohima, Dimapur and Zunheboto took part in the competition.

The subtitles- Miss Perfect 10, Miss Personality, Miss Photogenic, Miss Beautiful Smile, Miss Beautiful Skin and Viewers choice were also awarded with Rs. 10000 each.
